TECHNIQUES TO ELEVATE YOUR SPACE
I can’ t get enough of Muse, BeautiTone’ s 2026 Colour of the Year. It’ s moody, calming, and effortlessly timeless and honestly, it’ s giving me flashbacks! My teenage bedroom in the’ 90s was painted forest green, which feels like the first version of Muse. Now it’ s back with a softer, modern edge, and I love that it feels both nostalgic and fresh all at once. Plus, it plays beautifully with today’ s trending paint techniques from colour drenching to bold accent walls making it as versatile as it is stylish.

COLOUR DRENCHING
Colour drenching is one of my favourite ways to use Muse, and it’ s easier than you think. Start by painting your walls and trim the same colour yes, even the baseboards and doors. Then, take it one step further by pulling that same shade onto a piece or two of furniture, like a dresser or bookshelf, to really unify the space. With Muse, the result feels like a warm hug, soft and calming, but still dramatic enough to make a statement.
FAUX LIMEWASHING
Faux limewashing has such a romantic, old-world charm, and the best part is you can recreate it with eggshell paint. The finish adds a soft, textured look to your walls, with gentle colour variations that feel layered and full of history. When you use Muse for this technique, the result is incredible it gives the walls that cozy, lived-in feel, like they’ ve always been part of your home.
STRIÉ
Strié is such a beautiful way to bring quiet elegance into a room. The technique creates a soft, linen-like effect by brushing fine vertical lines through a wet glaze, and the result is subtle but so impactful. When you use Muse with this finish, it really enhances the colour’ s earthy depth, adding a natural, tactile quality that feels polished but never stuffy. It’ s the kind of understated texture that instantly makes a space feel elevated, while still being comfortable and lived-in.
