When BeautiTone announced Muse as their Colour of the Year, I couldn’ t help but smile. That deep, moody green instantly took me back to my childhood. The 90s were filled with shades just like it. I’ ve officially reached the age where the colours I grew up with are making a comeback. I’ m not sure if that makes me feel old or just inspired. Maybe a bit of both. What I do know is that there’ s something really comforting about breathing new life into an old favourite.
I think that is why our generation is so drawn to nostalgia. We miss those days of riding bikes until the streetlights came on, building things with our imagination, and spending way less time in front of screens.
Bringing that spirit back into our homes gives us a sense of connection. And in my mind, that is exactly what good design should do.
Bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect examples. These are the rooms where we begin and end every single day, and they set the tone for how we feel. A welldesigned bedroom can lead to restful nights. A smart, spa-like bathroom helps us unwind after a long day and makes the morning rush more efficient. Put the two together and you have a recipe for balance, comfort, and a smoother routine.
In this issue, we explore fresh ways to make both spaces work harder and feel better. From soothing colour palettes to efficient layouts and bold finishes, you will find plenty of inspiration to create bedrooms and bathrooms that feel personal and restorative.
Here’ s to designing spaces that ground us, inspire us, and maybe even bring back a few good memories along the way.
