Laid Bare features a selection of new drawings and paintings by Nick Hoar, which aim to capture the true character of the human form and the changing landscapes through which he passes, in a way that is instinctive, free and full of life.
Working in pastel, charcoal, ink and watercolour, Nick regularly attends the excellent life-drawing sessions with Adrian Dutton, which have encouraged greater freedom in his work and afford a deeper connection with the subject. Drawings from these sessions are the backbone of this exhibition and demonstrate the simplicity and sensitivity through which Nick interprets the world around him.
