PATCHING UP
Bald patches in lawns are

MOWING AND TRIMMING
When you start mowing again in spring,
keep the grass longer than normal, and
gradually reduce the height of the blades
as the weather improves. Or leave the grass
a little longer throughout summer, which
will help it withstand periods of drought.
Mow in one direction then again at 90˚ to
the first mow. To achieve crisp stripes,
you’ll need a mower with a rear roller and a
