Small garden birds need to eat

• Consider hygiene ; put out small amounts of bird food regularly to ensure the food is always fresh , and regularly clean your bird feeders .
• When gardening , don ’ t be quick to tidy up ; leave ivy to grow and dead vegetation to stand , which will provide shelter for birds and the insects that they feed on
