Go For Gold opening doors to the construction industry
The NMC Construction Group has been an avid supporter of the Go For Gold Programme ( G4G ) for over 16 years and it remains to be one of the company ' s most cherished CSI initiatives .
The four-phase programme works as follows : Phase 1 : enhanced education in Grade 11 and 12 ; Phase 2 : internship within the construction industry ; Phase 3 : tertiary studies ; Phase 4 : employment after graduation .
In 2017 NMC recruited five G4G phase two students , including the very first G4G student in Gauteng . We would like to welcome all the students to our team and wish them well for the year ahead . See student profiles below :

NMC Construction Namibia , a d i v i s i o n o f t h e N M C C o n s t r u c t i o n G r o u p , sponsored a laptop to Lizel J a c o b s , g r a d u a t e a n d entrepreneur for achieving Best Performer in her class .
Lizel is one of a group of sixteen persons with disabilities who recently graduated from Namibia University of Science and Technology ’ s ( NUST ) Centre of Enterprise Development . The group completed a seven-month entrepreneurship programme . “ I was desperately looking for ways to grow my business , and after completing this training , I can guarantee that this programme will have long-lasting benefits for my business .” says Lizel .
The NUST has identified the need for support from this group with over
98 000 people living with disabilities in Namibia . The programme is aimed at addressing this need through equipping disabled small business owners with the necessary skills and training to manage and grow their businesses .
“ The sponsorship falls in-line with the strategic goal of the business to support and uplift Small Medium Businesses ( SME ’ s ) in Namibia . We will continue to support such initiatives in order to further entrench our commitment to this cause .” George Ndjitaviua , SHEQ Manager .
