Rebecca Rumbo and the Bearettes were treated as local celebrities on March 28 during a special ceremony honoring their championship in the high school gym . They were presented gifts before signing team photos for more than 200 guests in attendance .
An early moment of celebration for the team this season came in December as they won the Great East Texas Shootout in front of their home fans .

Special recognition

After playing on live television to capture the Class 4A state championship on March 5 the Bearettes have enjoyed a long run of special recognition for their history-making performance . Upon arriving back at campus on March 6 they were greeted with signs and over 100 fans cheering them on with confetti and more . Two days after winning the title the girls were guest radio deejays at The Blaze in Tyler ( photo above ). The next day they spoke to Brownsboro Intermediate students before being honored by the Chandler City Council that night . The booster club surprised the team with special yard signs and then a ceremony was held at the Chandler McDonald ’ s on March 25 where the team was presented with free food and a special tribute video . Banners and billboards were on display across the area while on March 28 a banner unveiling ceremony was held in the high school gym that included autograph sessions with the team and a firework show .
