work as a team ’

head coach Jeremy Durham said . “ They are very coachable . But I think that the biggest thing is that they genuinely love each other and play for each other .”
The concept of teamwork can ’ t just work by itself however , it is rooted into selflessness . The Bearettes teamwork functioned so well because they ’ re selfless towards each other , and it creates the ability to maneuver amongst each other so well .
“ We also are really selfless and we all have different strengths that make us work together so well ,” senior Allie Cooper said .
Another factor that makes this team so different is their time together . They have all grown up together , and played with each other their whole lives .
“ I honestly think what makes us different from any other team is our chemistry and how much we love each other on and off the court ,” Cooper said . “ We ’ ve been playing together for so long and there has never been any type of drama or issues within our team and it really just makes playing together so much easier and so fun .”
One of the positives from growing up in a small town is that the players have known each other and played together since elementary school . Playing with the same teammates for years has given them the ability to know the ends and outs of one another . It has helped them communicate better than teams who have only known each other for a couple years .
“ I think the thing that makes our team click the most is that we grew up with each other and played basketball with each other for so long that we just became family ,” senior Rebecca Rumbo said .
Other teams call their teammates friends , but this isn ’ t the case for the Bearettes . They aren ’ t just teammates or friends , they ’ re family .
Every aspect of their team comes from the fact that they are more than just friends . They care for each other on and off the court because they care about each other ’ s well-being .
The Bearettes aren ’ t just a team from a small town , and they are not just state champions . They ’ re family .
