What is your favorite thing about being an educator ?
I love seeing students learn and grow , The light-bulb moments are the best ! I especially love how I am able to keep up with their achievements after elementary school . The 2021 graduates were the first group I had taught here at CES , it was so special getting to see them walk the halls the last week of school before their graduation .
Why did you decide to become a teacher ?
Teaching is not something I instantly knew I wanted to do . After graduating I started at TJC with my basics . I ended up babysitting for a couple of different families and I fell in love with being with those children . Helping them with homework after school , being with them when their parents were away , and just having conversations with them about random subjects is what drove me to be a teacher .
What is something that stands out that was unique to this year ? A UT TYLER student that student taught under me last year was hired to work with my grade level this year and I am her mentor teacher . I have loved getting to work with a new teacher and that I was able to see her grow as an educator . I really enjoy having student teachers and getting to mentor new employees at our campus .
How long have you been teaching all together , and in this district ? This is my 15th year to teach and 14th year with the district .

What is your favorite thing about being an educator ? My favorite thing about being an educator is planning lessons that are fun for my students . I look at the upcoming concepts and think about how I can plan an engaging lesson for them . I want them to be excited about what they are learning and love Math . I love to hear them say that they had fun in Math that day .
Why did you decide to become a teacher ? I come from a family of teachers . From an early age I started helping my mother in her classroom . When I was a senior in high school my older sister became a kindergarten teacher . I used to help her as well . It just seemed like the perfect career for me .
What is something that stands out that was unique to this year ? Something unique about this school year that stands out is the feeling of unity amongst the teachers . We are teaching in unprecedented times and each day holds its challenges but with the help of my team we have faced those challenges together .
How long have you been teaching all together , and in this district ? I have been teaching for a total of 28 years and this is my second year at Brownsboro Elementary . “ Mrs . Frisby is an amazing educator and team player ! While another team member was out for an extended time , Mrs . Frisby took it upon herself to teach those classes too . She genuinely wants every student to be successful . We are so blessed to have such a caring , inspiring individual as part of our BES family .”

What is your favorite thing about being an educator ? My favorite thing about being an educator is getting the opportunity to help students find their passion and purpose . I love being able to show students the lessons and opportunities given through organizations like the FFA and agricultural education ; they provide life lessons that will help mold students into successful individuals down the road .
Why did you decide to become a teacher ?
I went through an FFA program and know how much this organization shaped me into the person I am today . I wanted to be able to help students have those same opportunities I was given to develop their potential for premier leadership , personal growth and career success through agricultural education .
What is something that stands out that was unique to this year ? I think this year we are starting to see some normalcy come back . I see great things happening in all aspects of extracurricular organizations . Athletics , Drill Team , Band , UIL , Theatre , FCCLA , FFA , you name it , all of these organizations are excelling and I think that is something to be very proud of and , as an educator , makes me proud to be from this district .
How long have you been teaching all together , and in this district ? This is my 5th year teaching in the district and 5th year all together . It is very special to be able to help a program succeed especially when you have been in the same seat as your students !
