Ag instructor and BHS teacher of the year , James Boyd , is starting up a new program called " Ag Awareness day " to spread knowledge of agriculture to the younger generations . This program will allow students to begin learning about Ag before they get to the junior high and high school levels .
“ Ag Awareness Day is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2022 ,” Boyd said . “ Our plan is to have 15 different organizations and Ag related businesses come together to offer different activity rotations to allow 4th grade students the opportunity to be exposed to the importance of the agriculture industry .”

as well as recruit them for future classes . And fortunately , many students won ' t have to wait until high school for those classes .
“ This is the second year of Ag , Food & Natural Resources Classes being offered to 8th graders ," he said . " Our Junior High classes are booming .”
The FFA members from BJH also compete in events on the high school level , which has increased the number of teams representing Brownsboro at district and area events .
“ In the past there have been more contests offered than students willing to participate .” Boyd said . “ This year , the narrative has switched . We generally compete in 13 events , but this year we have 19 teams full of students eager to learn and compete .”
