MUlti generational
Brownsboro Intermediate has not one , not two , not three , but FOUR generations at their campus . This is the first year all four generations have been together in one school , and so far , they say their experience has been great .
The family has been part of BISD for 60 years . Great grandmother , Gwendolyn Hill , joined the district in the 1970s and has been a part of BIS for 26 years .
“ Out of all of my years being here I ’ ve served many roles ,” Hill said . “ Now I have my family here and I love it .”
Cindy Rawls , the daughter of Mrs . Hill , also enjoys seeing her family every day . She currently works in RTI , and this is her first year at BIS .
“ I like working here because I can greet my mom and kids , and on a daily basis I wouldn ’ t be able to do that ,” said Rawls . “ And of course I get my hugs from my grandbabies so thats always a blessing .”
Kinsley Wymore , Rawl ’ s granddaughter , is currently in fourth grade and also gets to see her family at her campus .
“ I didn ’ t know how she ’ d react ,” Rawls said . “ I figured it would be the complete opposite like ‘ I don ’ t know her ’. However , I see her in the hall and get a wave and smile every time .”
Kinsley ’ s mom , Brittey Rawls , also works at the school in the cafeteria , which everyone enjoys .
“ It ’ s also nice to know what they ’ re having for lunch ,” Rawls said . It really is something special that we have .”
Although they are all in different areas of the school , they still interact like a family .
“ Most of the time it ’ s ‘ Mom , I forgot something can you bring it to me ,’” Rawls said . “ It ’ s always nice to have someone just in case .”
“ I think it ’ s neat that we ’ re all here and see each other every day ,” Hill said . “ I really enjoy it and I ’ m glad it turned out this way .”
