How do you became a GM?

During season 5 of the ISHL I was asked if I wanted to take over the Montreal Wanderers since the previous GM Paul Wheeler got too busy to run the team actively. As a coach of the team I had already been working as the helping hand for the Wheeler, so it was a rather easy to take the opportunity once I had made it sure for myself that I was going to have enough time for the responsible job.

You find GMing easier than goaltending?

It's definately opposite. In GM'ing there's so many things you have to deal with, starting from keeping good relationships with other GMs, planning how to deal with the salary cap, constantly look if there would be some additions or changes you could do to make the team better - for today and for the future. It can be really time consuming.

If you have to pick any player to join the Bears who will be and why?

From the GM view I'd want it to be someone very loud person off ice, someone who pushes the rest of the team forward with his example and creative ideas.

Is there an ice rink (beside Bombardier Arena) you really like to play in?

Mississauga Gardens is a fun place to visit. Their fans are noisy and seems to always be rather dirty on us, so it's always nice to leave from there after a win. During offseasons I enjoy getting chances to hit on ice in Hartwall Arena in Finland.
