Today women generally use a common beading method that originated during the historic period. Seed beads are strung on one needle and another needle and thread is used to stitch the beads to the material backing, two beads at a time. Women may sew directly onto hide but just as often
they will bead onto other materials including felt and velvet and attach the beaded works to the larger hide garment. Most local designs incorporate multiple colours and range from simple floral or animal motifs to more complex patterns that include multiple flowers, leaves, and stems,
