Even Count Peyote
Step 1
Start out with a generous amount of your preferred
beading thread (fireline and nymo are popular
choices). Tie a stop bead on the end and pass the
needled and thread through the bead in the same
direction so that the thread wraps around the bead.
The stop bead is temporary and helps to prevent
your beading from falling off while stitching. This
bead will be removed later.
Step 2

the last bead added.
Pass the needle and
thread through the
next bead.
Step 4
String one bead. Skip
one bead and pass
through the next bead.

peyote string on an
even number of beads.
The width of your
cuff will determine
how many beads you
will string on. To
weave eight columns
of peyote, string eight
beads on the thread,
ten columns ten beads
etc. These beads will
become the first two
rows.
