How did it all begin for Kristi Bowman
Design?
I have been making jewelry off and on for
years, mostly for myself. In 2008 I was preparing to have foot surgery, I discovered
Etsy and Precious Metal Clay. So while I was
laid up for a few weeks, I spent most of my
time researching PMC and shortly after I
started buying equipment, took a class and
opened my Etsy shop. I was immediately in
love with it and have never looked back. I
went from Silver to Bronze and now favor
Copper. I absolutely love the texture you
can get with clay and the wonderful colors
hiding in the Copper that can be brought
out with a torch!
You’re well known for your copper clay
components, what inspired you to begin
creating with polymer clay and are there
any other mediums you would like to
work in?
My polymer clay work sprouted from my
search in adding color to copper. For so
