always loved art. “Many years ago I used to draw and paint, but I haven’t done that in years now. Sometimes I make rough sketches of beads or jewelry, but nothing too elaborate. One day I hope to start painting again.” It seems that Marica goes through a journey with each new piece. She told me, “first it’s the idea that I have in my head. Sometimes I hit the studio as soon as I get the idea. Other times, I take notes or make a rough sketch. I’m always surprised at the sheer amount of ideas I have running through my head at any given time. The next step is trying to overcome any obstacles that I might have to actually make the piece exactly as I see it in my head. I also experiment with new techniques.
