Brenda Hamilton’s family quilt, which is 101 years old, will be on display at the Co-
shocton County Fair in the art hall. The quilt has 570 names on it, many of which have
connections to Coshocton County. Pictured sitting on the quilt is a photograph of
Hamilton’s great-grandparents, Anna and Clarence Powell, who were connected to
the quilt’s history, and a Powell family history book.
QUILT: Hamilton excited to share family quilt at fair
FROM PAGE 16
“I want to share this with other people
to hear their stories and link histories,”
Hamilton said.
While the quilt was auctioned off, it
ended up staying in Hamilton’s family
because her great-grandfather Clarence
Powell bought it for his wife because she
had worked so hard on it. It is believed
the winning bid was possibly $600.
