Six years ago , the leadership of 360 Blue founded The Sonder Project , a nonprofit seeking to empower impoverished communities around the world through high-impact , sustainable development . It was a bold move that has produced profound results .
The Sonder Project focuses its efforts on sub-Saharan Africa , as it is home to over half of the world ’ s extreme poor — and the dollar goes a lot further here to improve lives . Since its inception , The Sonder Project ’ s global efforts have led to the drilling of 21 wells , increasing access to clean water for over 42,010 people . Sonder has also constructed 11 schools , allowing for the daily attendance of 2,919 students , and established an active irrigated community farm , increasing food security for over 1,000 people . This year , The Sonder Project is excited to be launching a new Student Sponsorship Program , allowing supporters to directly assist students in The Sonder Project schools with the resources they need to succeed .
All of this , of course , takes money .
