My Granddaddy introduced beekeeping to my brothers and me on Christmas Day . He gifted us 7 hives , and little did I know that those hives would later be the inspiration that pushed me to start my own honey business . Although beekeeping started with my Granddad , I truly learned everything that I know from my Dad . He was the one who maintained the hives alongside my Granddaddy , and continued to do so , even after he passed .
Today , my dad and I have built 70 hives together since deciding to turn this family hobby into a business , now known as “ The Honey Hutch .” Beekeeping is my dream job — I am able to work with nature , observe the cycle of life , and have the privilege to watch a beautiful product be enjoyed by people everywhere .
