The Approach
Where to start?
We wish our horses to seek us out, to want to be with us and to feel satisfied when they are with us. We wish their desire to be the same as ours, togetherness, in unity as one, this is how they are by nature.
But how can we come to ask this of them? By a simple question, asked with the right manner of politeness and beneficial outcome for the horse.
But we first must ask ourselves to be content with all in ourselves and all around us. We must find ourselves in the moment, our surroundings, our mind, our horse, we must be aware of all these things but at the same time peacefully acceptant of them all. We must let free any emotional baggage, any negative thoughts and feel pleasant within.
We want to ground ourselves, breath long and deep into our entire body, close our eyes and listen to the world around us, smell the air, feel the grass, see the sky and be at one within that moment and bring that oneness to ourselves. Only then we can be at one within our self and our horse.
We want to offer what we know our horse is looking for, comfort, safety, food, water, enjoyment, pleasure, social life etc. All his needs must be met by us in all instances of his life, not just the ones we want. If he is content with what we have to offer he will be content with us.
So how do we ask him to seek us in a manner of politeness and one of which he will understand and feel drawn to, as oppose to other methods of pressure, demand or force?
We give him free choice, the choice in which he rightly deserves as any living being on this earth does. We must relinquish any feel of dominance and control over a situation as we humans like to have in order to authentically offer this freedom of choice and allowance.
