Lets leave that scenario there and have a look at the second. This horse is one who alot of people would label "stubborn", "lazy", "dominate" and so on.. know a horse that get called things like that? Im sure you do. Thats call "anthropomorphizing", labeling a animal of any kind with human desires or emotions. Of course the animals do not understand most of the things people label them with!
So we are in the arena lets say with this horse complete opposite to the horse in scenario one. Sure its would be easy enough to go "catch" this horse, but he has probably figured out his own 'game' to manipulate his human to fore fill his own needs and desires.
So how would you go about inviting this horse? Possibly similar to the first horse, but likely not so much. Each horse is a individual and we must be with them as such! This horse, he shows no interest in you, if you approach him he moves away only fast enough to keep you from him he looks disinterested and bored, shutdown almost.
Again we must read him to understand how we are effecting him by being here and how it is he feels about us. Is he looking at the dirt, looking over the fence looking at us, whats his ears focused on, whats he saying with his body language adn so on. Again lets keep it fairly simple for the sake this will become much to long and i will or have covered this in other topics..
So basically he is disconnected from us. He knows he is wanted to be caught but he wishes not to be so moves away. How do we captivate this horse desire and interest to be with us? Be non demanding be interesting, bring positives understand his ideas and desires be fun but also a confident and compassion passive leader.
Maybe i will jump around with joy or find something and play with it to catch his attention. If he shows interest i will invite him over with the same manner of politeness id like to receive. I may then see if he would like to join me in my new game or see if he has a idea in which me may like to do... now i have left it very simple here purposely! As this is also a insight into my Soft Touch approach which differs slightly to my Be With Me approach.
