CYCLING THROUGH A MOSAIC OF PONDS
On this flat route , you explore mining heritage and De Wijers , land of 1001 ponds . From De Teut nature reserve , the old coal track takes you towards Zonhoven , the green centre of De Wijers . Further on , you end up in Bokrijk , where you cycle right through the water . Next stop : take a break on the pleasant terrace of Domain Kiewit , while the kids have fun in the petting zoo and playground . The route continues over the Albert Canal to the Herkenrode Abbey Site . The stunning nature will continue to delight you : ponds , fens , dunes , forests and heathland as far as you can see .
