with three other international bodies, the
American Association of Radon Scientists
and Technologists (AARST), the Canadian
Association of Radon Scientists and
Technologists (CARST) and the European
Radon Association (ERA). COIRA members will work together on a global scale to
tackle the worldwide issue of radon related
lung cancer and have input to international
policy consultations. Through this body,
the UK Radon Association will also ensure
that UK industry members are kept up to
date with the very latest in research, new
technologies and policies which will benefit the development of the market.
Through this cross-border cooperation,
UK Radon Association has a number of
places available to UK-based contractors
on a training course being run in conjunction with the European Radon Association
Workshop in Spain in April 2016. The
three day course will be conducted in
English and will provide both theoretical
and ‘hands-on’ practical training to those
wishing to enter the radon market or further their existing knowledge.
The first UK Radon Symposium will be
hosted by the Association on 14th April
2016 in the City of Bath, a UNESCO
World Heritage Centre. This one-day event
will include seminars on a wide range of
issues, including the health implications of
