during the rest of its existence in the savings in energy from installing a newer more efficient piece of kit . At the very least energy efficiency should be addressed at end of life , changing the current systems to implement more efficient systems .
This of course means we can make further savings before moving onto procuring renewable energy or actually installing renewable systems on site . So for us it is management first , plant and equipment second , and purchasing the actual power afterwards . The mantra of Be Mean , Be Lean , Be Green comes to mind .”
Over the course of the two years or so , M J Mapp has been preparing for the upcoming changes to minimum energy efficient standards which come into play in April next year . The company has been identifying potential risks within portfolios and have been advising such risk to clients whether or not they are looking at this centrally . Where significant risk is identified M J Mapp have been facilitating the production of recommendation reports to show how these buildings can be made viable in accordance to the updated standards .
M J Mapp is working alongside clients to find solutions to any potential issues , and the company takes a very pragmatic approach as to where buildings can be improved or whether improvements are even possible , as a property may already be performing to the best of its capabilities . Whilst there are always improvements to be made , the focus should be on those assets where the risk or the savings are greatest .

The aim for the company still , as it has been for many years now , is to attract and retain the best people from across the property management sector , whilst never straying away from the overall focus on the needs of the client in what is an unrivalled property and asset management service . The focus at M J Mapp has always tended to be on getting the basics right and performing to the best of the company ’ s capabilities , rather than attempting to grow the business as much as possible regardless of the service standard . This approach has proved beneficial up until now and will surely continue to do so in the future .

M J Mapp was also recently selected as one of the new two new tenants to have signed up for the available space at Temple Quay in Bristol , at the £ 50m Glass Wharf office development , after agreeing terms with the property landlord Salmon Harvester / NFUM . The company joins other names such as Arcadis Group and PwC at the Temple Quay Enterprise Zone , and be sure to look out for further announcements in the near future as M J Mapp continues to go from strength to strength !
