Field of Dreams

The Fairview Elementary School “Field of Dreams”
playground renovation started with the idea that
every child, regardless of physical ability, should
be free to experience the thrill of playground play
in a safe, inclusive environment. We have worked
to grade over three acres of hilly landscape,
build over ½ mile of wheelchair accessible
asphalt pathway, and install specialized inclusive
equipment to complete the first two phases of
this project.
The joy of seeing and hearing kids on the new
playground for the first time was overwhelming.
This has been one of the greatest experiences I
can remember!
We are working on our next phase by raising
money for seamless surfacing, as well as multi-
sensory installations of accessible outdoor musical
equipment and native gardens.
