GLOBAL EDUCATION
The heart of global education is creating global citizens who are active in shaping a better world
for all people. The Buncombe County School System is committed to seeing all students graduate
as high-achieving, globally-competitive learners with 21st Century skills and Global Education
plays a critical role in this mission.
One of the top four priorities for BCS is, “facilitating a
comprehensive global education program.”

BCS is part of the Global Schools Network and
partners with Participate (formerly VIF International
Education), a state resource agency.
BCS offers study abroad programs for students,
teachers, and administrators in countries such as
China and Denmark.
