BUNCOMBE COUNTY EARLY COLLEGE
Buncombe County Early College (BCEC) is located on the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community
College (AB Tech) campus. BCEC prepares high school students to be ready for college, careers,
and community. In addition to a high school diploma, students can earn an Associate in Arts or
Associate in Science degree from AB-Tech tuition-free.
BCEC works with students to develop a personalized
course of study, which may be completed in four or
five years. Students also have unique opportunities
to explore, experience, and engage with their futures
through a variety of experiences with job shadowing
and service learning/volunteering.
BCEC is a small school where our staff knows each
student well. Our course of study is rigorous and our
expectations for student performance and behavior are
very high. However, we provide high levels of support
and care, which help students to thrive and to reach
their academic and career goals.
