The BCF Sustainability Policy commits to producing paints, coatings, wallcoverings, and
printing inks in ways that ‘meet the needs of the present, without compromising the
ability of future generations to meet their needs.’ The independent judges were asked to
identify the company whose entry best reflects the goals of this policy.
The Sustainable Innovation Award will recognise commitment to this policy, from
innovative products using recycled or more sustainable raw materials, to products
that help extend the life of substrates and forward-thinking investments in pro duction
facilities and offices that dramatically reduce the impact of our industry on the
environment. Companies were encouraged to consider not only the impact of
innovative developments on in-house manufacturing processes but also their effect on
the entire supply chain, from cradle to grave.
This year, the decision was taken to split the award so that there will be a separate
award presented for the best entry from a supplier, ie a BCF Associate member.
