BCF ’ s 2018-2023 roadmap
During the second half of 2017 , the BCF ’ s General Purpose and Finance Committee fine tuned the Federation ’ s new strategic plan . The plan , which builds on the growth strategy from the past five years , was unveiled to the BCF board in November .
Non-Executive Director Steve Snaith , who had previously been Global Trade Marketing Manager for AkzoNobel Decorative Paints , helped the BCF team structure the plan , which is available to all BCF members and can be downloaded from the BCF website , via the member log in .
BCF ’ s key challenges / opportunities 2018-2023
1 . Ensuring a continued high level of member satisfaction
2 . Building an increasingly effective and proactive lobbying effort , to articulate the industry ’ s views and needs in a changing business environment ( Brexit , increasing legislation etc )
3 . Ensuring a long term sustainable future for the BCF ( financial , skills , knowledge . capabilities , and talent )
4 . Building a highly skilled , competent workforce for the future of the industry , through exemplary training programmes
5 . Ensuring a business environment that is conducive to the long term profitable future of the industry :
a . A good Brexit outcome for UK paints , coatings , printing inks and wallcovering manufacturers , importers and suppliers b . Proactive programmes to tackle major issues in the sector c . Increased promotion of the industry and the benefits it brings to the UK
BCF vision statement : To be recognised as the leading trade association in UK manufacturing , delivering outstanding support for its members , respected by the business community and listened to by government to ensure the long-term sustainable well-being of the paints , coatings , printing inks and wallcoverings industries in the UK .
