QUICK FACTS AWARDS Teran was selected as the 2015 Small Communities Economic Developer of the Year as well as the 2015 NDSBDC State Star. GAMING $51,311: Revenue generated. Proceeds went to the Bowman County Development Corporation, Bowman County Historical Society and the Rhame Fire Department. PUBLIC RELATIONS ALL SEASONS ARENA $31,352: Rental Proceeds. Events hosted included the annual PRCA Rodeo, barrel racing events, tie down clinics and many more. Renters travel long distances to utilize our facility. The economic impact is immeasurable but we know it provides great benefits to our businesses. The City of Bowman had no remaining liquor licenses available for new or expanding businesses. A committee of stakeholders met and proposed a revised ordinance to the Commission. The new ordinance was adopted in May 2015. BOWMAN GATEWAY INDUSTRIAL PARK After completing a feasibility study the City of Bowman and Bowman County agreed to move forward on an industrial park. Plan s are underway and we are excited about this added asset to our already great County. BOWMAN & SLOPE COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION $119,515 committed to support charitable organizations in our area. No grant rounds have been held yet but the committee is excited about the generosity of our community. BowmanND.com RELOCATION AND VISITOR PACKETS continue to be provided by our office. Trends have moved to online information. CONNECT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WORKFORCE We continued to promote jobs through our website, window decals, table tents, a banner ad on the Pioneer website and print ads. We also made contact with businesses seeking employees. RURAL BUSINESS ENTERPRISE GRANT A feasibility study to evaluate the ABLE Inc. business, current services they provide and opportunities for their future was completed in 2015. Key expansion factors were identified. COMMUNITY IMPRESSIONS Program to get a visitor’s perspective of our community. Teams participated from Carrington and Bowman. The City of Bowman leaves a great impression! A valued partnership continues to be found with the Chamber. Through the contracted services provided by the BCDC, we are able to best utilize resources in working towards our common goals. TOURISM & AREA PROMOTION The BCDC is a hub for visitor information, event information, relocation packets, and general information. We can also provide additional advertising services for local non-profit organizations. HIGHWAY BANNERS Designed to promote area attractions and events $69,475 1% Sales Tax $45,275 2% Sales Tax $93,630 Dollars that went back in to the community to promote tourism, area events and attractions. HOTEL BINDERS Showcase visitor attractions, businesses and things to do in the area. These are updated yearly. CITY ENTRANCE Visitors to the area are now greeted by our new “Welcome to Bowman” signs! TABLE TENTS Updated seasonally to promote area events, quality of life and life in Bowman County. 180 are distributed throughout the County. DOWNTOWN BEAUTIFICATION Benches and flower pots were added to Bowman’s Main Street to add to our already vibrant downtown. BowmanND.com
