From BBYO to the Arts : Road Map to Activism , Gaston B Amy Horowitz and Patricia Giniger Snyder like to say that BBYO taught them to be effective leaders and advocates for change . For both , it has been through the arts : using video , music and PowerPoint presentations , they will show you ! Amy is an activist , producer , and writer who is a senior fellow at Indiana University . She received a GRAMMY award for the reissue of the Anthology of American Folk Music . She traces her activist and academic work to hearing Dr . Martin Luther King Jr at the March on Washington and Elie Wiesel at ILTC . Pat is an EMMY-nominated producer / director / writer who has tackled many issues through documentary filmmaking . Her current documentary , “ In the Footsteps of the Courageous ,” is about Jews who escaped over the mountains into Spain during WWII . Bring your own stories of how BBYO contributes to your activism , and how you can use your talents to affect sociopolitical change .
