In today’s hyper-connected, consumer-driven culture, what virtues do we still hold sacred? How do
we create “mensches” in this complex, modern world? Brooks will explore these questions through
a 30-minute interview pulling from some of the relevant themes in his new book, On Character. He
will then turn the tables and engage with teens to explore the shift over generations as we move
away from a culture of humility to competing for attention, feedback, likes and friends.

An interactive, multi-media presentation will highlight advanced findings from the 2015 research
study about Jewish teens in America and their unique perceptions about Judaism and Jewish life.
Teen presenters at this session will represent a diversity of voices from all of the major national
Jewish youth-serving organizations.

Join a dialogue with BBYO teen leaders, special guests, and New York Times Op-Ed Columnist and
Commentator, David Brooks. The program will explore the connectivity between Jewish teens, their
peers from across the globe, and their Jewish heritage, and wil
