Welcome...
TIME TO dust off your
winter gear this week-
end as cross town rival
Logan Thunder drive up
the freeway to the adome
for our Sunday clash – we
need your help to swing
the momentum our way
as their supporters are
proud and loud and love
supporting their teams.
It is sure to be a couple
of great games. The Wes-
ley Hospital Lady Capitals
will be looking to return to
their winning ways and stay
in touch with the top 8 as
we approach the half way
mark. Logan on the other
hand are putting togeth-
er a very solid season and
sit 3rd on the ladder. The
Lady Capitals are fighting
through an unfortunate run
of injuries at the moment
and will look to the bench
to pay some valuable min-
utes.
The Hudor Men sit atop
the ladder with Mackay as
the only 2 remaining unde-
feated teams. They will be
seeking to preserve this po-
sition as Logan will come
with the attitude on nothing
to lose as they try to reset
and start their push back
up the ladder into the top
8. The men come off a re-
sounding victory last week
against Sunshine Coast
Phoenix with the entire
squad contributing to their
performance.
In other news, today we
will present our U14 Boys
D3 Division 3 State Cham-
pions and congratulate
them on their achievement.
Our 170 odd junior teams
take a school holiday break
from the Junior Champi-
onship season. Brisbane
Basketball has a couple of
options to ensure they do
not spend all of their time
on the couch – we have
some basketball holiday
camps, an all comers type
camp and the other is being
directed by Cameron Bair-
stow former NBA player
now Brisbane Bullet which
is for players with some
experience. Check out our
website for details – www.

In closing the association
would like to thank the Bris-
bane City Council for their
consideration in approving
a grant to assist the asso-
ciation to refurbish all of the
toilets and change rooms
located under the court 1
grandstands. We are ex-
pecting the work to com-
mence in the next couple of
weeks and ask for your pa-
tience. While we will be en-
deavouring to minimise dis-
ruption and inconvenience
we expect some disruption
to the routine. We think it
will look great and we hope
you think so to.
I hope you enjoy the
game.
