FLORAL MARQUEE
House of Plants Feature
Samantha Theakstone
The House of Plants Room Set Design , is creating an interior space , designed and styled with house plants at its core . Showcasing how we can bring the outside in and have an extension of our garden space within the home .
The space will include a kitchen island area where herbs and plant care can take place . A seating area at the island with fabulous stools from Woodmancote Retro , made with recycled cosmetic bottle tops creates a social atmosphere .
The dining table is an extension to the kitchen seating area , the tabletop is upcycled and styled with benches by Cox & Cox . The flooring is split into two colours , and this flooring is an updated version of traditional cork tiles , supplied by The Colour Flooring Company . It ’ s called Corka and is not only tough , waterproof , and easy to lay , it is also carbon negative – it actually removes more carbon from the atmosphere than is used in its manufacture .
The lounge area has a luxury sofa from Swyft Sofas teamed with the recycled cushions made from French Grainsacks by Maison Brocante . The rug is provided by Eaton Square and is made from recycled plastic bottles and is a durable rug that can be used both indoors and outdoors
The rest of the lounge is style with house plants from the exhibitors in the Floral Marquee in a variety of ways from palette coffee tables , to re-purposing an old fireplace whist still keeping it as a focal point .
There will also be a range of plant pots from Elho dotted around the set , that are made with recycled plastic , and are 100 % recyclable . Also screen dividers from Screen with Envy will be displayed .
Samantha wants to emphasis that you can mix old and new items and still create a luxury space to enjoy and working with suppliers that have a passion for producing products that have purpose and a story is so inspiring to include these elements with the design too .
