Beautiful Borders
 Beautiful Borders
 Nourishing the Soul
 Designer: Laura Docker
Nourishing the Soul is inspired by the gardens at Marie Curie Hospice, Solihull. This calming space evokes a connection with nature, with lavender’ s soothing scent and the gentle hum of bees creating a comforting atmosphere. The border encourages reflection, with plants symbolising healing and protection surrounding a peaceful seating area. Opposite, a prayer bowl invites visitors to offer thoughts and prayers through pebbles placed into cleansing water, fostering a sense of connection and solace.
 Family, Nature and Neighbours
 Designer: David Blythe
Cultivating Connections made me think of the bonds we build with family and neighbours through shared garden spaces. This design is centred around a shared boundary, using a low dry stone wall with planting pockets and a fence featuring vertical herb planters and a wildlife corridor. Companion planting with pollinator-friendly species creates a space where families can connect with nature through the sights, sounds, scents, and tastes of the natural world.

 Interwoven
Designer: Sophie Howden Company: Sophie Howden Gardens
This garden design highlights how small spaces can foster connections with nature. Woven willow screens, a gabion wall, and wildlife-friendly fencing create boundaries that support, not separate. A mosaic of habitats and planting provides year-round interest for people and essential food and shelter for wildlife. Reclaimed materials feature throughout, including a gabion bench for rest, a water feature, and a stepping stone path that encourages exploration, inviting visitors to pause and connect with nature.
‘ To Be or Not To Be’
Designer: Emma Mayho and Pippa Willcox Company: Pippa Willcox Gardens
‘ To be or not be’ explores the connection between mental health, writing, and nature.
A rough path, which, represents the struggle that many face with mental health issues. Further along the path, weeds and barriers give way to a calm oasis. Here is space to pause and just be; to be connected with nature, to encounter the healing power of words.
