The‘ Wallace Line’ Garden is a formal canal garden inspired by naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace, who identified a line dividing distinct ecosystems in the Malay Archipelago. A steel representation of this line runs through a long pool, with jungle-style planting on one side and savannah-style planting on the other. A contemplative bench faces a bust of Wallace, symbolising his enduring legacy. Built by JG Landscapes, the garden illustrates how contrasting planting styles can coexist while highlighting the irreversible impact of crossing ecological boundaries.
