Birmingham Health for Life School Wheelbarrow Competition
The School Wheelbarrow competition is a beloved highlight of the Show. School children, from nursery to secondary level, showcase their creative flair and teamwork by transforming wheelbarrows into imaginative garden displays. This year’ s School Wheelbarrow competition at BBC Gardeners’ World Live focuses on the theme of food and climate change. Schools are encouraged to explore how climate and environmental changes impact food production globally and locally. Students will choose an aspect of this issue that interests them and design their wheelbarrows to illustrate solutions for mitigating the problem. The competition offers a simple, hands-on, and fun gardening activity that inspires both participants and spectators alike. This year, we have over 46 wheelbarrows, all placed around Picnic Hill. Come along and vote for your favourite!
