Birmingham Health for Life Wheelbarrow Competition
The British Bee Keepers Association
The British Beekeepers Association presents demonstrations of bee manipulation on Hive of bees , giving an opportunity to see inside a working beehive to identify the different occupiers . See the Queen and her courtiers and the wonderful construction of the honeycomb with its combination of uses . Get really close to a bee colony behind the safety of a glass walled observation hive and try the various taste of Honey from across the UK .
The Health for Life Schools Wheelbarrow Competition is this year focusing on climate change and its impact on food production around the globe . Around 40 schools and nurseries from Birmingham have worked hard to design and produce a wheelbarrow full of edible plants and vegetables to highlight these issues and explore some of the strategies being used to address them . The wheelbarrow installation can be found arranged around the mound , outside of the floral marquee . Come to the TCV stand alongside to collect a token to partake in the public vote and vote for your favourite ! Take your used coffee cup along to The Conservation Volunteers next to Picnic Hill and plant it up for free with a selection of seeds !

Amidst all the garden and foodie fun you ’ ll find toe-tapping entertainment from the Estrellas and Gyspy Swing Duo at the Bandstand . Plus , be serenaded by Lumos String Quartet in the Floral Marquee whilst Got 2 Sing Choir and John Clapper also provide a soundtrack to your day around the Show .
