The Imaginary Topiary
Designer : Ralph Bourdoukan
Nestled among a sea of drought-resistant flora , a small yet serene landscape awaits . Wispy grasses sway gently around hand-woven wire sculptures , delicately shaped into ethereal topiaries . These sculptures are inspired by my love for gardens as a creative sanctuary . The reflection of the plants and the sky in the water surrounding the island invites contemplation . The planting avoids strong contrasts and bold hues to further instill a feeling of calm , enabling one to escape the turmoil of busy urban life .
A quiet corner
Designer : Steven Ballinger Company : Steven B Gardens
Everyone needs a quiet corner in the garden to sit and relax , and here my border shows you don ’ t always need flowers to bring interest . For me it ’ s about using the texture from foliage and stems , which work well in a shady corner where the use of green always brings calm to your surroundings .

Missing you
Designer : Families for Missing People
This border has been created by families who have a missing loved one . They aim to convey the moments of escape and refuge that tending a garden can bring . It captures the difficult emotional journey experienced fluctuating between feelings of hope , loss , and reflection . The figures remind us that although the loved one is missing , they are never forgotten , and the search never ends . The still water allows for reflection on happy memories and strengthens hope for the future . The messages displayed on the tree ’ s branches remind families that they are not alone . The calm meadow planting provides relief from the ambiguous sense of both hope and loss , represented by the darker planting .
