Now , as McGinley settles into his new role , he says he feels blessed with this new experience . Having worked everywhere from Ojai to Florida since the pair met , he is excited to be back in Orange County and with NBCC . “ To be here at this prestigious country club is extremely rewarding for me ,” he explains . “ I was born right here in Newport Beach and to have the opportunity to have a career right down the street from where life started is amazing . I love this place .”
As the year draws to a close , Blair and McGinley are sure to dedicate the time and effort it takes to ensure the members all have a great holiday season at NBCC . “ The members , the golf course , my team and the food we create here is something truly special and holds a very dear place in my heart ,” McGinley says . SEASONAL SIPS : PEAR COLLINS
Servings : 1
2 ounces Ketel One Vodka
1 teaspoon pear liqueur
1 / 2 ounce elderflower liqueur
1 ounce pear puree
3 / 4 ounce fresh lemon juice
1 / 2 ounce honey
Ice
Club soda
1 pear slice , for garnish
1 sprig of thyme , for garnish
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 / 2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
Thoroughly mix brown sugar , garlic powder , onion powder , salt , pepper and chipotle powder in a bowl using a whisk . Fold in mustards , honey , vinegar , ketchup , Worcestershire and Tabasco until fully incorporated . Add the barbecue sauce to your favorite chicken or pork recipes .
Combine vodka , both liqueurs , pear puree , lemon juice and honey in a shaker , then mix thoroughly . Strain into a Collins glass over ice . Top with club soda . Garnish with pear and thyme , then enjoy .
