Segerstrom Center For The Arts : Just In Time For Your Holidays !
Segerstrom Center for the Arts has announced that its Julianne and George Argyros Plaza is open and ready to welcome you
back for great al fresco entertainment and holiday family fun . The Center has worked for months to create the safest protocols and practices to make sure you feel relaxed , confident and ready for good times .
Holidays Around the World , the Center ’ s annual multi-cultural holiday celebration , returns for two nights , December 5 and 6 . Enjoy entertainment and music and safe , socially distanced fun with family and friends . Be advised , no matter what the weather , snowfall is predicted !
Tony ® and Drama Desk nominee Megan Hilty returns to the Center on the Argyros Plaza , December 11 , with performances at 4 and 7 pm . Celebrated for her portrayal of seasoned triple-threat Ivy Lynn in NBC ’ s musical drama Smash , Megan Hilty has also triumphed on Broadway , too . Audiences adore her sweetness , sincerity and levity that make her one of today ’ s most beloved artists .
The Argyros Plaza is raising its giant outdoor movie screen and presenting two nights of holiday classics : Elf on December 18 and a double-feature of
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Frosty ’ s Winter Wonderland on December 19 . Both showings start at 7 pm .
Start the countdown to 2021 with Steve Tyrell on December 29 and 30 with performances also at 4 and 7pm . Tyrell ’ s way around the Great American Songbook is pure pleasure . Steve will be there , heart and soul , to help you ring out the old and ring in the new .
And to help reduce stress and prepare to enjoy the holidays in full Zen , stop by the Plaza for the Center ’ s Wellness Classes . December 2 , 3 , 9 and 16 from 4 – 5 pm . Everyone will be properly distanced , so space is limited .
For the concerts and movies , patrons will feel comfortable in safely-spaced seating areas that can accommodate up to six people . Everyone will be required to wear masks , and temperatures will be taken . Special features include touchless ticketing and restroom fixtures . Moviegoers should plan to bring their own beach chairs , blankets and refreshments to these outdoor events . However , no food preparation or barbecues are allowed on the Plaza .
