Style and fashion : sometimes there is an overlap between the worlds of style and fashion .
Personal style , which this article is all about , is something that “ belongs ” to the individual . A means of self-expression , how they dress is “ their ” style . Style is timeless , while fashion is timely . It follows trends or fads . For instance , right now the “ trendy ” print in men ’ s and women ’ s clothing is snake . Fads don ’ t last long , and snake print will follow suit .
Many of the men and women at the Academy Awards last month were dressed by their “ stylist ” in trendy looks . Many of the women looked poured into their outfits front and back . There were a few who dressed themselves , and they looked comfortable , their color choice was spot on . They were few and far between .
Please meet two very busy doctors who are in style . They know what they feel good wearing , from fabric to color to fit .
Meet Dr . Cory Brame
CAROLE PICKUP : What was your motivation to become a doctor ? DR . CORY BRAME : I became a doctor because I was often sick when I was a child . I was around doctors frequently and I thought it was something that I wanted to do . At a young age I thought it would be so cool and interesting to understand how our bodies functioned and how to fix them . I also thought it would be very satisfying to spend each day helping people .
CP : Tell me about your career path and your family ? CB : I went to Cornell in Manhattan for my ophthalmology residency . I met my husband , Desmond McGuire , in 2001 . Very soon after we met , we learned that we were both placed in San Diego for our fellowship specialty training . I became a cornea specialist . We fell in love with Southern California and have never left . We had our daughter , Kendall , in 2009 .
CP : How do you spend your precious free time ? CB : Snow skiing , horseback riding , hiking , biking , fly fishing and traveling .
CP : You have a great fashion sense . What is this all about ?
