Dear NBCC Members ,

As I write this article , I am celebrating my first anniversary at Newport Beach Country Club . I have loved everything about my first year at NBCC ! We have such a special and unique club , filled with an incredible membership and so many very special employee team members .
As I reflect on a fantastic first year , I ’ m very proud of our team and what we have achieved together in the past twelve months , with some highlights including :

• New Golf Carts – with GPS and new lithium batteries
• Family Tees – added to the course to provide another teeing option for new and youth golfers
• Course Yardages – new 100- , 150- and 200-yard plates
• Driving Range Project – completion of driving range tee and greens regressing
• Hoag Classic Tent – increasing the size of the member tent at the Hoag Classic
• Monday Minute – a new communication tool , the Monday Minute
• Video Communications – weekly e-newsletter now includes video communication
• Course and Locker Room Snacks – increased and additional snacks
• Chef ’ s Table Wine Dinner Series – a weekly wine dinner on Thursdays with Chef Graeme
• Cookies – complimentary cookies in the lobby plus energy bars in the fitness center
• Sunday Brunch – a weekly Sunday Brunch
• Pasta Night / Taco Night – increased offerings on Pasta and Taco nights
• Happy Hour – improvements to Friday and Saturday happy hour dishes
• Exterior Landscape – completion of phase I of landscape enhancements
• Lobby flowers – fresh flowers in the lobby every day
• Christmas Tree Lighting – a new event added to start the Christmas holiday season
• Easter Bunny – improved Easter Brunch with a parachuting Easter Bunny
• New Member Orientation – creation of a formal New Member Orientation program
• Membership Committee – reinvigorated our very selective membership process
• Staffing Levels – increased staffing in the locker rooms and outside services
• Front Desk staffing – now staffed until 9 p . m . every day
• New Staff Positions – the addition of the following new positions : o Sommelier o Training Manager o two Food and Beverage Managers o two Chef de Cuisine positions
We will continue to make improvements to our club and the member experience . This month , we continue with our golf course repair and maintenance project , including work on our tees , bunkers , landscapes and cart paths .
We are extremely proud of our member retention and waiting lists in both Golf and Social Sport membership categories . It has been a fantastic first year , and I ’ m excited for the future and what ’ s to come .
