Tell our readers what a typical day is like for Farahri?
Farahri
A Day In The Life . Every day is different. I don’t think I’ve had 2 days the same in the last few years, which is really cool but also makes it very hard to keep any sort of regimen. There really is no typical day.
My days are a mix of any of the following: walking my dog, studio sessions, cooking, cleaning, vocal exercises, writing songs, interviews, photoshoots, video shoots, show rehearsals, logistics, day to day errands, working out, tons of emails and online stuff, paying bills, strategic and creative planning and tons of meetings. Every once in awhile I’ll pop down to Ottawa and visit my family or they come to Toronto. It can get very hectic and overwhelming but I like to be busy.

Tell me Farahri what is was like to be awarded ‘Best Female Pop Act at the Black Canadian Awards?
Farahri
I’m very emotional as well and cry all the time lol but for this one I didn’t cry. I felt a sense of calm actually. My team of dancers and I were backstage getting ready to perform when they announced it so I was caught off guard a bit but every ounce in me was just so thankful that I could bring home an accolade for our team. We all worked relentlessly to put together a great performance. There have been a lot of people who have helped me in my career at low points and high points and winning an award feels so great in that it validates the time and energy others have put into me and believing in me. I accepted my award and then we danced our butts off in a great theatrical set put together by Jahte Le, it was a magical night.

Tell me about your affiliation with the Fashion world?
Farahri
I like fashion when it’s really different, that’s what catches my eye. I also love pop culture fashion and how certain designers play with making an everyday look be more avant-garde. I’m lucky that my manager is also a fashion designer so he has a really cool creative vision but then I also get to add my vibe to create a look I really like and feel comfortable with. I have 2 endorsements, one with AMA Swiss diamond watch company and the other with a high end purse designer, Pretty by Claudine. I’ve also been fortunate enough to have several amazing sponsors – Nobia X-cessories, Zalin shoes, Red Lovo shoes and Fiore Fashions.
