First, you will want to consider where you would like to go. Next, choose a port that offers your selection. Consider too, of course, how long you can go for. If you are flexible on your dates, then you will want to take advantage of the deep discounts offered during those off season times. It also helps to book your cruise with the same Cruise Line you cruised with before, as they usually offer discounts to returning guests.
Packing is another one of the stresses that goes along with planning your trip. You wouldn't think so, because, you figure one outfit for each day, with a couple of evening outfits for the formal settings, and your good to go. Not so. For woman especially. We must take into consideration a different pair of shoes for each outfit. Certain garments work well with some outfits and not with others. That becomes an agonizing line of conversation, don't you think? Well, it doesn't have to be. One suggestion is buying the same style dress in a couple different colors for the evening. Using mix and match outfits is a beautiful thing!
If you pack smart, you can get away with using only one suitcase. Believe me, if I can do it you can too!
One last thing to keep in mind since being covered up most of the winter with long sleeves and long pants, is to ease back into the sun exposure by spending 20 minutes in the sun the first day, and increasing the time a little more each day to avoid an uncomfortable sunburn. I believe it is a really good thing to get a healthy dose of vitamin D from sun exposure everyday. However, if you burn easily and will be out in the sun for extended periods of time, there are natural sun blocks you can use to avoid the harmful chemicals found in most sunscreens. Raspberry seed oil has an SPF of 25-50, coconut oil, 4-6 SPF, carrot seed oil, 35-40 SPF, shea butter, 4-6 SPF, almond oil, 5 SPF, and zinc oxide, 2-20 SPF.
Happy vacationing!
