Passionate Living
In order to truly live the lives of our dreams and fulfill our passions, we need to create space for them to enter our lives.
We de-clutter our lives when we choose to let go of anyone, anything, and any opportunity, event, activity, obligation, etc. that doesn’t fit into our vision for our ultimate lives. Anything that drains our energy must go so we can create space for what we really want to flow into our lives.
One way to do that is to be more discerning when we make choices. These are the 5 questions I ask myself to determine if an opportunity, a person, an event, or a decision is right for me. By saying “no, thank you” to anything that’s not a match, we make room for the people, opportunities, events, etc. that sing to our soul and experience more joyful, fun, and passionate lives.
Amazing things come when we create the space for them in our homes, schedules, businesses, and lives. And, it feels good to consciously choose how we invest our time and life energy. I hope this list will help you make decisions that align with your desire to live your most passionate life.
Cheers to empowered, passionate living!

I AM ENOUGH
i
Age 7, I had thick stop sign shaped glasses, crooked teeth, a blonde fro and a permanently pruney finger from it constantly being in my mouth.
Somewhere around this time I picked up that I was ‘less than’ and being me was not good enough. I was too chubby, too goofy and I thought I’d better figure out a way to become someone ‘they’ all liked if I wanted to survive adolescence.
Fast forward a couple of years, before any friends would come over I remember running a lap around my house and hiding incriminating pictures, so I could keep my truth a secret. No one would know just how ‘uncool’ I really was.
As I got older, the light of my authentic self dimmed to a faint glow the more I tried to be someone I wasn’t. I desperately wanted to be liked and to me this was weighted by how skinny and pretty I was.
When I hit my early 20′s, it became less and less appealing to pretend – I yearned to be accepted for who I truly was, but most of all I wanted to fully except myself.
What I have realized is that many women have similar stories to my own. The circumstances may have been different… But the belief system is the same.
I am not good enough – being ME is not enough.
This is what I have learned through simply changing my perceptions:
I am perfect just the way I am.
I am lovable.
I am enough.
I repeat these affirmations to myself daily in the mirror. Weird? Yea… Maybe.
But in order to change your thoughts you have to actively challenge them on a daily basis. It is possible to change your life simply by shifting your perceptions.
The truth is that I have everything I need within myself and I have had it all along.
Being our authentic selves is our highest calling and we serve the world most effectively when we come from this place.
From one of my favorite childhood books…
‘The Velveteen Rabbit’,
‘Real isn’t how you are made,’
Said the Skin Horse. It’s a thing that happens to you.
When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real.’
‘Does it hurt?’ Asked the Rabbit.
‘Sometimes,’ said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful.
‘When you are Real you don’t mind being hurt.’
‘Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,’ he asked, ‘or bit by bit?’
” ‘It doesn’t happen all at once,’ said the Skin Horse. ‘You become.
It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby.
But all these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.’ ”
