Performance Advice
Cork rod handles are sure to get dirty in time from regular handling . You can keep them looking good by cleaning periodically using a cleaning sponge . Just get the pad wet , squeeze out the excess water and rub very lightly to remove dirt and grime . Some pads are abrasive , so be careful not to rub the rod ’ s finish . It ’ s a good idea to wrap the ends of the reel seat and other exposed areas with painter ’ s tape to prevent scratching . Lefebre likes to give cork handles a light rubdown once or twice a year using a fine-grit sandpaper . He says sandpaper removes grime and gives the cork a little texture for a better grip .
