Bass Musician Magazine - SPECIAL August 2014 Female Bassist Issue | Page 143
What can we look forward to from you in the
coming year?
I am looking forward to auditioning for different master’s
degree programs in the US! I am really excited. I think
Nashville might be a option, but I haven’t made any
decision yet. I believe that being single and without
kids can make the perfect moment to continue one’s
studies.
I will be performing with some of the university
ensembles in the mean time and recording with different
people. I am planning to start a YouTube channel and
upload videos of myself playing some covers, as well
as versions of hit songs I like.

own voice. Understanding that everything you play,
or as Victor Wooten might refer to “Say”, is what you
think. Playing the bass begins at learning your notes,
frets, instrument, and ends wherever you take it. I
think everyone goes through phases when it comes
to genres of music. When I started I used to play lots
of rock tunes, but right now I feel more interested in
jazz, Latin, and Colombian music. The only important
thing to understand is that every kind of music can be
amazing and teach you about life, where you are, and
what you are trying to express. When I tell you to find
yourself in music I suggest you pay attention to your
particular styles, to your own choices and embrace
them to know who you really are and how you can
give to music, and therefore share with others.
