LW Mexico’s two teams that
qualified to fish as part of the
International Division at the
Costa FLW Series Championship on
Table Rock Lake Nov. 3-5 know they
have their work cut out for them and
have been preparing diligently for the
big test.
Chema Rosillo (pro) and Eduardo
Silvestre (co-angler) compose one
team, having finished as the points
champions in the two FLW Mexico
events held in this, the circuit’s first
season.
The other team consists of Jose Juan Ortiz (pro) and Jose
Mario Granados (co-angler).
Indeed, the qualifiers dominated the competition in the
two tournaments, with Ortiz and Granados having won at
Lake Zimapan and Rosillo and Silvestre finishing first at
Lake La Lajilla and third at Zimapan.

Just as in any tournament, excitement takes over, and
the adrenaline that accompanies victory makes every fish-
erman react differently. Some will shed a few tears, others
will laugh nervously and just a very few will show no emo-
tion outwardly, though being joyful inside. In the inaugural
year of FLW Mexico, it was the same. The anglers who won
or did well in the two tournaments were understandably
elated and eager to experience what the future will bring.
“First of all, I would like to sincerely thank FLW for
including Mexico under its umbrella of international part-
ners,” says Rosillo. “And all the FLW Mexico staff did a
tremendous job putting together these important events in
our country. I’m sure this program is going to be a true suc-
cess story in the years to come for everybody.”
