very era sees advancements in fishing technology, but none has progressed so quickly as
the last decade. sonar, once limited to looking below the boat, can now see to each side
and in front of our boats. Gps technology allows us to come within inches of a target with
unparalleled accuracy. there are even trolling motors that “anchor” us in place without a rope.
all this technology has allowed anglers, especially tournament anglers, to target fish far off-
shore more easily. electronics are the most important tools on the boat for offshore fishing,
but there are other steps an angler can take to improve his rig for the offshore game.
